The Czech Republic invites the global community to join us in a long-term effort and recite mantras for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
What we do
We recite a minimum of 100 Buddhist mantras every day and dedicate them to His Holiness. If we have a regular Buddhist practice, we dedicate that to His Holiness too.

Count your mantras and send your monthly count at the end of each month to mantras4DL@gmail.com or this site or the facebook page. You can find the grand total updated by your count at the side panel of this page each month.
How it started
We’ve been at this since July 2018. We have accumulated millions of mantras, originally for His Holiness‘ 84th birthday. But that was before the Tibetan government in exile (CTA) announced a few months into our initiatiative that the Tibetan community would be praying for the long life of His Holiness, making the year 2019 an official year of prayer for Dalai Lama’s long life. Naturally, we joined the effort and we now continue reciting the mantras far beyond His Holiness‘ birthday, at least till the end of this Tibetan year (end of February 2020). We have enjoyed this so much, we invite the global community to join us! Come and discover the joy of creating positivity and love!
How we met His Holiness
In June 2019, a group of six representing the Czech Republic presented His Holiness the Dalai Lama with a birthday gift: nearly five million mantras accumulated over one year in the country. His Holiness was presented with a file explaining the effort:
We have asked His Holiness to live long and promised to continue in our efforts. Now we welcome you to join us. Keep in touch and up-to-date through the facebook page.
When His Holiness was released from the hospital in April, he thanked the millions who had prayed for him and confirmed that the prayers for his recovery had helped.

The tenshugs (long life ceremonies) have been taking place each month. During the major tenshug in May, thousands of people gathered in Dharamsala as they offered a long life ceremony to His Holiness. The heads of all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism requested His Holiness to live long. That night, he had a dream in which his protectress, Palden Lhamo (Shri Devi) prophesied that he would live till 110 years. He himself feels confident that he will live for some hundred years to benefit humanity, the Tibetan people and Buddhism.
At 84 years of age, 14the Dalai Lama is the longest living Dalai Lama in history. Let’s help to sustain his life till at least 100 years!
Thank for being in!
